U.S. The government’s appeal orders a ban on ticketing

The U.S. Department of Justice has said it is appealing a Pennsylvania judge’s Oct. Oct. order that barred the government from banning China-owned short-video sharing app Ticket OK, which is due to take effect on Thursday.

The Commerce Department’s August Gust order will ban transactions with TickTock, whose owner ByteDance warned it would effectively ban the use of ticket ok in the United States.

The White House does not appear to be in a hurry to enforce Gustav’s divisive order on Aug 14, which directed Bydens to sell tickets by Thursday.

Although no immediate efforts were made by the Trump administration to enforce the order, it was unclear whether the government would formally request bytendance to extend the sale deadline.

The Commerce Department said on Nov. 1 that it would comply with Judge Wendy Beatlestone’s order to block the ban, but said it would “vigorously defend” its actions.

The U.S. Third Circuit did not immediately comment on the government’s appeal.

Beatlist ordered the agency to ban hosting for ticket ok, content delivery services and other technical transactions in the United States.

President Donald Trump’s administration argues that the ticket ok raises national security concerns because the personal data collected on 100 million Americans using the app could be obtained by the Chinese government. Ticket OK denies the allegations.

Beatlestone writes that “the government’s own descriptions of the national security threats posed by the ticket ok application are described in the fiction.”

The U.S. Treasury Department said Wednesday it is seeking a solution to national security concerns raised about the ticket ok before Thursday’s divisive deadline. A Treasury spokesman did not comment Thursday.
