The New York-led U.S. The group of states is investigating Facebook Inc. for a possible antitrust breach and plans to sue the social media giant next week, four sources familiar with the matter said Wednesday.
The complaint will be the second major lawsuit filed against Bigtech this year. The Justice Department sued Alphabet Inc.’s Google in October.

More than 40 states plan to sign the lawsuit, a source said, without naming names.
Facebook declined to comment. A spokesman for the New York Attorney General’s Office Fees declined to comment.

The Federal Trade Commission, whose commissioners met on Wednesday, can file a related complaint with an administrative law judge or district court.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. There has been a recurring allegation on Facebook that it has sought to buy large composite rivals. These include Instagram in 2012 and WhatsApp in 2014.
