U.S. Covid-19 highest level in about six weeks of hospitalization

Covid is at its highest level in U.S. hospitals since Sept. 2, according to data from the Trekking Project. As of Monday, 35,056 patients had been hospitalized across the country, up 16% from a week earlier. While the number of hospitals is increasing, it is still less than the daily daily high of July.

Arkansas Govt. Asa Hutchinson warned that the high level of hospitals in the state is straining the health care system and urged residents via Twitter to “work together to reduce our cases.”

Hospitals are also on the rise in New Jersey, where the state’s seven-day Covid-19 cases peaked at 70,000 on Monday, the fifth day, New Jersey’s last hit in early June. More than 600 people in the state have been hospitalized due to Kovid-19, up from 400 in September. More than 6,000 people were hospitalized in the state when the peak hit in April.

In the U.S. state of Guam, hospital admissions are at an all-time high since the epidemic began, with 62 people in civilian hospitals and three in the island’s U.S. Naval Hospital.

California: Government Gavin News reported that the state has increased its daily testing rate by an average of 125,000. A total of 169,000 tests were conducted in the state on Saturday, Mr. News said in a briefing on Monday. The state also said that 95% of its local health departments were contacting positive testers for the virus, the same day they receive test results, a critical measure of the effectiveness of exposure to slow the spread of the virus.

Vaccines:

Johnson and Johnson said he discontinued higher doses in all clinical trials of his experimental Covid-19 vaccine because one study volunteer had an explanatory illness. The pause affects all trials of the Jammu and Kashmir vaccine, including the large Phase 3 trial that began in September, and the U.S. And some other countries aim to register as many as 60,000 people. An independent data-safety monitoring board is reviewing the study subject’s illness, the company said.

Reinfection: U.S. in Nevada In a paper in the medical journal Lancet Infectious Diseases, a group of authors, including researchers at the University of Nevada, cited a two-year-old 25-year-old who endured two fights. Covid-19 infection, one confirmed by testing in mid-April and the other in early June. Symptoms of the second case began in late May, a month after the patient reported that his initial symptoms had resolved.

India: Health Ministry figures show that almost 55,3427 new cases have been reported in the country, the lowest single-day telly in almost two months, with a total of more than 1.17 million, according to the health ministry. The death toll in India has risen to 709 from 106,856, the ministry said. Infections are slowing in most parts of the country, while the southern states of Karnataka and Kerala and the eastern states of West Bengal are still plagued by a growing case load.

Italy: New restrictions are planned in the country, advising households against hosting more than six guests and limiting operations in bars and rest restaurants to prevent the spread of infection. Hospitality outlets will no longer be able to serve standing customers after 9pm, although table service will continue until midnight under the new measure. The number of new coronavirus cases has increased rapidly in recent days. For the first time since the initial peak of the epidemic in March, the daily infection passed 5,000,000 on Friday.

Spain: About 28,000 new coronavirus cases have been reported since Friday, according to data from Spain’s health ministry. The death toll rose to 33,124 in 195 from Friday. Spain, unlike many other countries, does not report coronavirus data over the weekend. The number of new cases has moderated from the recent top of 16,000 on September 18th.

South Korea: The total increased to 24,805 as the new cases went back above 100. South Korea has eased some social-distance measures in recent days, including removing restrictions on gatherings and allowing the reopening of karaoke bars and buffet restaurants. But the country is introducing other remedies and on Tuesday people pushed forward the need to wear face masks on public transport and medical facilities.

Japan: For the first time in a week, less than 300 new cases have been reported in Japan. The country now has about 89,700 cases reported and 1,634 deaths, including five additional deaths imposed on Tuesday.

Australia Australia: In the state of New South Wales, authorities recorded 13 new coronavirus cases, including seven that were acquired locally. Health officials in Sydney are concerned about the recent rise in cases and are urging people to get tested. In the state of Victoria, where Melbourne is still under relatively severe lockdown, authorities recorded 12 new cases and one new death, bringing the country’s death toll to 899.

Singapore: Health officials said the city-state did not find any new cases transmitted locally on Tuesday – for the first time since February when local cases dropped to zero. Four cases have been found in passengers entering Singapore from abroad. A total of 57,884 cases and 28 deaths have been reported in Singapore.
