The U.S. Coast Guard did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday evening.

The family said in a statement, “We will make sure that Virgin Islands authorities are making all possible efforts to locate her and that the investigation into the disappearance of our beautiful and beloved daughter involves a comprehensive fingerprint search of the boat.”

The Virgin Islands Police Department said it would continue the search for Haslop, with several searches being conducted each day and hours of surveillance video being passed that would shed light on his disappearance.

U.S. Coastguard spokesman Ricardo Castrode told the Virgin Islands Daily News that shortly after Haslop went missing, they “searched the shore, nearby islands and all the surrounding and outlying waters from where the ship landed,” about 50 yards away. Offshore in Frank Bay.
