After six years and two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, center David Andrews is going nowhere.
Andrews is back in the Patriots, said Kim Jones of the NFL Network. Andrews will sign a four-year deal, NFL Network’s Mike Gerafolo reports.
At No. 37 on Greg Rosenthal’s Top 101 Free Agents of 2021, 29-year-old Andrews Patriots has been the mainstay of both the offensive front and the uplifting comeback story.
After missing all of the 2019 season due to a blood clot in his leg, Andrews returned to the Pets in 2020 and performed well overall despite the team’s difficulties.
As the Patriots have received headlines this week for bringing new talent to the mix, Andrews ’return is good for those who are well fed. Andrews has long been the team captain and locker room leader. Maybe that’s one of the reasons the dolphins were interested in him, as Gerafolo noted. Miami has been coached by former Pats assistant Brian Flores, eventually.
In the end, it looks like Andrews and Pets are getting what they want and that’s what New England is all about.
