Twitter has removed an image tweeted by President Donald Trump for violating the company’s copyright policy.

Trump’s tweet showed a photo taken by Damon Winter for the New York Times in 2015. But the president made it into a meme with the words: “They’re not really behind me, they’re behind you.”

It ends with: “I’m on the road” at the bottom.

The tweet now only shows a “media not shown” notice after Twitter removed the image.

“Under our copyright policy, we respond to valid copyright complaints that were sent to us by a copyright owner or his authorized representatives,” a Twitter spokesperson told CNBC.

“Twitter responds to copyright complaints filed under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (” DMCA “),” says the company’s copyright policy.

The New York Times filed the removal notice, a company spokesman said.

Twitter has been cracking down on Trump’s tweets that violate his policies.

Last month, the president posted a manipulated viral video of two children. Twitter hit him with a “manipulated media” tag and the video was eventually removed after a copyright claim by one of the boy’s parents.
