Gordon Hayward’s time with the Boston Celtics could practically be measured in injuries.
It started with the terrible leg injury in his first match with the organization. Most recently, though, a Grade III judge was single-handedly stabbed in Monday’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
While Monday’s commitment was net same ankle as that of 2017, it’s still sad for a Celtics team looking for a deep playoff run.
The organization announced Tuesday that Hayward will miss about four weeks. Upon hearing the news, many express their disappointment on social media.
Here is what a few had to say:
Head coach Brad Stevens and other Celtics expressed similar reactions. However, Stevens sounded optimistic the team could come together to fill the role of Hayward.
Hayward averaged his most minutes (33.5), points (17.5) and handball (6.7) since becoming a Celtic.
The Celtics currently have a 1-0 series lead over the 76ers. The two Squads return to action on Wednesday for Game 2 of the seven-game series.
