Dr. Anthony Fauci gave his best impression of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. And no, it was not with a microphone in hand, but a baseball.
Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which has been widely visible during the COVID-19 pandemic, launched the first pitch when the Washington Nationals welcomed the New York Yankees on Thursday. It was the first game for each team in the 2020 regular season.
Unfortunately, however, the right-hander Fauci left a lot to be desired with his throw to the plate. And Twitter let him know.

It’s all right, Dr. Fauci … you’ve been busy. No time to practice ⚾️

Dr. Fauci confidently walked to the mound to launch the first pitch and I thought, “This is going to be strong.” Instead, it rivaled some of the worst in history. Hey?

Well, I think we’d all agree that we need Fauci’s guidance more off the field than his game, anyway, right?
