Twitter confirms that it is testing the ‘Undo Tweet’ feature – but it may be limited to commercial Twitter

Evidence is growing that Twitter will add a “undo tweet” feature, but those who want to will have to pay: app researcher Jane Manchan Wang Search subscription screen Attached to the feature. The ability to retrieve tweets also showed in a survey that Twitter users are asked about features they are willing to pay for, as well as in the code for the app, and C.N.E.T. Today it has been confirmed via Twitter that in fact, it is being tested.

It is unknown when it will be widely available, but it is understandable why Twitter might consider maintaining a feature for its potential subscription service: What better temptation than a “keep yourself out of trouble” button?

As part of that, Twitter has not said if the facility will be limited to paying customers – it is possible that it is not yet sufficient in development for that decision to be made.

It is also worth noting that the design of the button indicates that it acts similar to the “Undo” button in Gmail, where the site waits only a few seconds before sending a message. In other words, it is not Really The Edit button that people hear, but at least it can give you some way to get to that function (except for the part where someone can tell you that you’ve made a mistake).

If Twitter is open for suggestions for the Undo button, here it is: If an abusive tweet explodes with a warning, give it a few more seconds to reconsider if it pops up. It’s hard to say whether it will fix the general atmosphere on Twitter, but it’s at least suitable for shots, right?
