Tucker: DNC speakers Cuomo, Obama, Bowser showed what’s wrong with their party

The first night of the Democratic National Convention – with speeches by Andrew Cuomo, Michelle Obama and others – saw several instances of irony, faux compassion and shameless double standards, Tucker Carlson said Tuesday night.

Cuomo, the Democratic governor of New York, received a prominent speech on Monday night’s opening night, using it to rave about what he called his successes in fighting the coronavirus, Carlson said of “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

“The earliest moment of the night was Andrew Cuomo’s speech; Cuomo is the brother of CNN’s weightlifting correspondent. His father returned the DNC keynote in 1984. There was never any question that Andrew Cuomo was at this congress of this year would speak, ”Carlson explained.

GOV. CUOMO ROASTED FROM ANNOUNCING BOOK TO COVID REPONSE: ‘DOWNRIGHT GHASTLY’

He said COVID was the “last thing” the political scion should raise – let alone in a braggadocious way, noting the thousands of people who died in New York state-regulated nursing homes after Cuomo’s administration was stable-but-positive patients ordered back into their confinement, resulting in a fatal spread of the virus.

“It is possible that no leader on earth has abused the coronavirus outbreak as deeply as Andrew Cuomo. A man of integrity would have been fired immediately,” he said.

“The whole thing was like watching Jeffrey Epstein talk about his internship program. You could hardly believe it happened. But it was.”

Michelle Obama ‘still a victim’

Carlson said the first night’s keynote speaker, Michelle Obama, was another unbelievable spectacle.

He pointed to the fawning coverage the media gave the former lady’s speech after the fact, noting that the First Amendment now apparently has two limitations: “No screaming ‘fire’ in a full theater – and no criticism of Michelle Obama. “

“Last night, she delivered a carpet address of her $ 11 million estate at Martha’s Vineyard. Michelle Obama, to be honest, did well for herself. What she wanted you to know last night was that she was still a victim – she and everyone who likes them – so keep quiet and accept their rule over you, “Carlson said.

He disagreed with Obama’s claim that “a never ending list of innocent people will continue to be murdered” in the US, and replied that in fact there are about eight unarmed African Americans killed by law enforcement.

“That’s not a list of never ending. Last year there was a total of 14. That what Michelle Obama just told you is a total lie, a calculating lie, a lie designed to make America more scared, angry, more divided, thereby helping their candidate win, ”Carlson said.

“Michelle Obama made it very clear if you do not agree with what she is saying, you are a bigot,” he continued, pointing to the part of her speech in which she claimed that President Trump was “in the head” and that they “hate politics” but “care[s] about this nation. “

“‘I understand that my message will be heard by some people,’ ‘Michelle Obama explained. Why will they not hear their message? “Carlson went on.” That’s the reason they’re bad people. ‘Half the country is evil. They hate me for my race, ‘says the woman whose husband was twice elected in a row by that very same country. $ 11 million distributed at Martha’s Vineyard. If Michelle Obama hates politics so much, then why is she making a political speech at a political convention? “

“You probably thought the left was secular, but not anymore,” Carlson told his audience. “They are fierce religious fanatics. Michelle Obama is her L. Ron Hubbard – Everything she does is good by definition,” he continued, comparing Mrs. Obama to the founder of Scientology.

He balked at the fierce praise of the media, and played complementary clips of social justice lawyer Van Jones, presidential candidate 2020 president Andrew Yang, and former Bush communications director Nicolle Wallace.

Mural of DC Mayor

Carlson added that one of the most out-of-touch moments during Monday’s conference session came from Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser:

“The city of Bowser is falling apart at the moment, literally. Have you been there? For centuries, Washington, DC, has been a beautiful place. You may remember it from your sixth-grade trip. Parks and trees and open spaces. “A city that the country was proud of. Now its open spaces are covered with tents and inside, drug-addicted vagrants live and they come out periodically to scare and harass visitors and locals,” Carlson said.

“She may have destroyed the capital of our nation, a city she did not build, but she got the politics right – and that’s all that matters.”

He played a clip of Bowser standing on a balcony overlooking what was once 16th Street NW, now monikered “Black Lives Matter Plaza”, and told the audience via video that “we can not just say these words – we have to these words live on. “

Carlson asked out loud if that painted slogan, written large on the street near the White House, was any consolation to Washingtonians or Americans who have seen their businesses shattered by mandates to close gubernatories, or those workers who are waiting for it. Congress to Renew Unemployment Supplements.

“At least you can sleep in your car, knowing that far away in a city run by corrupt bureaucrats, a street has now painted a fashionable political slogan. That is the message not only of Muriel Bowser, but of the Democratic Party.”
