WAS SHINGTON – President Donald Trump Tweeted On Monday that Attorney General Bill Barr would resign with just one month left in his administration, Barr publicly threw cold water on the president’s insistence that his election losses due to widespread voter fraud were illegal.
Trump announced that Barr would leave the Justice Department before Christmas and appoint Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen as acting attorney general. Trump insisted in a tweet on Monday that “our relationship has been very good, he has done an excellent job,” but the announcement comes after a recent confrontation between the president and the bar.
Trump tweeted that the two men met on Monday. Burr’s letter to Trump announcing his departure, dubbed the “resignation letter” by the Justice Department, began by noting that he had “corrected” the Justice Department’s allegations of voter fraud and how the allegations would continue. The letter did not include any further details on what Barr told Trump about the review; to date, no federal action has been taken to support the baseless claims of Trump and his supporters that the election for President-elect Joe Biden is in full swing in many states. There was fraud.
“At a time when our country is so divided, it is imperative at all levels of government, and at all agencies working in their area of responsibility, to ensure the integrity of elections and to promote public confidence in their outcome,” he wrote.
Twelve have rarely broken up with Trump in his two-year term, but in an interview with the Associated Press published in December 2001, Bair said the Justice Department has not found evidence of fraud that could alter the election results. He did not completely deny Trump’s allegations of fraud or directly criticize the president, but his comments contradicted the campaign’s postal election rhetoric and the principles of nationwide fraud conspiracy that led to President-elect Joe Biden’s contest.

In response to Barr’s interview, the campaign released a statement from Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis, who led Trump’s post-election legal battle, which was critical of the Justice Department.
“With all due respect to the Attorney General, there has been no sign of a Justice Department investigation,” Giuliani and Ellis wrote. “Again, with the greatest respect to the Attorney General, his opinion appears to be without any knowledge or investigation of any irregularities and evidence of systemic fraud.”
Before and after the election, Barry echoed Trump’s statement that mail-in voting took place during the coronavirus epidemic, undermining the integrity of the election by authorizing prosecutors to conduct a thorough investigation into voter fraud. According to the New York Times, the bar’s guidance was contrary to previous DOJ policies, which were intended to limit law enforcement activity that could affect elections.
Barrow spent most of his resignation letter praising Trump and his record on everything from the economy and the response to the coronavirus vaccine for confirmation by federal judges and support for law enforcement. “Trying to undermine your administration with fierce and baseless allegations of alliance with Russia, if not expelled,” he said while taking part in an investigation into Russian interference in the 2001 elections.
“Your record is even more historic because you completed it by facing tough, unexpressed resistance,” Barrow wrote.
The second attorney general fired by Trump is Bar. Trump’s first attorney general, Jeff Sessions, was forced to resign in November 2018; Trump repeatedly and publicly criticized Sessions during his two years in office for repeating an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
The bar, confirmed in February 2019, was enjoying a much shorter tenure in the office. He praised Trump for tapping Justice Department officials to investigate the Mueller investigation Directing Longtime Trump ally Roger Stone, who has been convicted of lying to Congress and obstruction, for recommending a reduced sentence and the U.S. Attorney’s Office fees in Washington; Trump later overturned Stone’s prison sentence.
Barry announced on December 1 that it had appointed U.S. Attorney John Durham in October as a special adviser to continue its counter-investigation into the origins of the 2016 Russia investigation, meaning he would likely continue the B Biden administration.
