Trump White House ‘Down to Kool-Aid Drinkers and Next of Kin’

CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta interrupted President Donald Trump’s Rose Garden speech Tuesday night, alleging that the reason no one in the White House stopped him was because staff are “on the lookout for Kool-Aid drinkers and their families. “

In what was initially touted as a press conference to announce the sanctions on China, the president quickly veered into a heartbreaking stream of consciousness that echoed one of his performances at the rally. Repeatedly attacking alleged Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, Trump issued a series of complaints and characterized Democrats for hating the United States so much that they “wouldn’t mind” if terrorists blew up their cities.

Acosta, who was once briefly banned by the Trump White House, tweeted immediately after Trump “dirtied” the Rose Garden with his performance.

“Presidents don’t use the Rose Garden in that kind of naked political fashion,” he added. “That was not a press conference, as WH described it. It was a campaign rally disguised as a press conference. It was a bait and a switch.

Hours later, Acosta appeared on presenter Anderson Cooper’s show to discuss the presser foot, which Cooper described as a “twisty rule” that shows “how callous we are” because it no longer seems surprising to us.

After criticizing Trump for selling more lies about the coronavirus pandemic that killed nearly 140,000 Americans, the CNN presenter wondered aloud if there was anyone in the administration who could steer Trump away from these shows.

“Is there anyone around the president who shakes his head when they hear ramblings in the Rose Garden like that?” Cooper asked Acosta, who has been one of Trump’s favorite targets.

“No, Anderson, we are left with Kool-Aid drinkers and family members here at the Trump White House,” the journalist growled in response. “There are no more adults to get down to the president’s level and tell him that he cannot give a rally-like protest in the Rose Garden like he did before.”

Acosta went on to say that one of the reasons most networks no longer carry out the president’s protests is because he cannot be trusted to tell the truth, adding that Trump had taken a place free of presidential politics. and “plunged him headfirst into a political campaign cesspool.”

After reporting on some of the highlights of the speech, the CNN correspondent reiterated that there was no one in the White House to “control” him, adding that he believes Trump will continue to use the Rose Garden as a gathering space.
