Trump stepped up firing at a White House meeting on Friday

A source familiar with the matter told CNN that in a meeting with White House advisers, Trump was angry that Burr had worked to make public a federal investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes before the November election.
Trump has told officials he is serious about changing the bar, but whether he will actually proceed with the move is questionable. They have been encouraged by counselors not to do so for the past several months.
Trump spent Saturday morning issuing angry tweets about his attorney general – in one instance, a. To tweet That encouraged Burr to fire through “End of Business Today”. But Trump spent a better part of a year making a fuss about him before firing on his predecessor, Jeff Sessions, so it’s clear whether his anger will manifest itself in immediate dismissal.
Trump and Barr had a “controversial,” long meeting inside the West Wing last week, according to someone familiar with the meeting.

Trump was frustrated at the time with Burr over his recent comments that the Justice Department found no evidence of widespread electoral fraud.

Reports then surfaced that Barr was weighing his resignation before Trump stepped down. A source familiar with the matter told CNN that Barr is unhappy with Trump and that the attorney general “is not someone who takes bullying and turns the other cheek!”

The president’s refusal to say last Thursday whether he has faith in Burr is a sign that he has come out in favor of Trump.

CNN reported earlier this week that federal authorities are now actively investigating Hunter Biden’s business dealings in foreign countries, mainly in China. His father, President-elect Joe Biden, is not trapped.

A person with knowledge of the investigation told CNN that the investigation’s activity had been kept secret in recent months due to the Department of Justice’s guidelines banning clear action that could affect the election.
