President Trump claimed Monday that the U.S. government’s oversight of people linked to its 2016 campaign during the Obama era could be a ‘potential liability’ for former National Security Adviser Susan Rice if she is selected as Joe Biden’s running mate.
“I do not want to say how much she is involved,” Trump said of Rice during a morning presidential afternoon, referring to the surveillance of people on his campaign. “Honestly, if he chooses her, that’s fine, but that’s a possible liability.”

His comments in response to a question about Rice could show his attack if Biden chose to run for the Democratic ticket.
Trump has long rails against the oversight of various figures over his campaign, including his first national security adviser Michael Flynn, who campaigned for Trump in 2016, and foreign policy adviser Carter Page.

Trump accused the Obama administration of spying on his campaign, and Trump said Monday: ‘They used our country’s intelligence agencies to spy on my campaign and they were caught. And a lot of people are involved. ”
Rice’s name has been mentioned in reviews of the so-called Russia investigation into Trump figures because of an email she sent herself in the last days of the Obama administration documenting a meeting she attended with President Obama and others where Flynn was discussed.
A Rice spokeswoman defended the actions during that meeting as well.
