President Trump made his first public remarks in a week on Friday. Came very close to conceding defeat in the presidential election.
Speaking from the White House’s Rose Garden, the Biden administration was discussing the possibility of enforcing a national lockdown when Trump had to catch himself before he accidentally conceded defeat.
“Ideally, we will not go to the lockdown. I will not go – this administration will not go to the lockdown,” the president told reporters, according to the Washington Post.
He continued: “Hopefully – whatever happens in the future, who knows what the administration will be.”
Trump added that, whatever happens in the future. “Who knows what kind of administration it will be – I think time will tell – but I can tell you that this administration will not go to lockdown.”

Trump’s remarks from the Rose Garden are his first since losing the presidential election to President-elect Joe Biden on November 7. 8:50 am and Friday, November 6th.
Since his victory, Biden has begun his transition efforts, though Trump has not acknowledged and continues to dispute the election results, without evidence.
The president posted dozens of tweets and retweets last week about the election – which he called “tough” – but was not seen in public until he attended the Veterans Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday.
During his press conference, Trump did not comment on the election, but focused on the effectiveness of his administration’s coronavirus vaccine program, Operation Worm Speed.
Exclusive: Documents reveal that Trump is building his own ‘deep state’ for the Biden administration, leaving behind political appointments in government.
The president said the program was “uneven and unparalleled” and that the post was “five times faster than the fastest vaccine development in history.”
Monsef Sloi, a top scientist involved in the initiative, also said Friday that 20 million Americans could receive the COVID-19 vaccine in December.
Since then, 25 million to 30 million Americans have been vaccinated every month, Sloan said.
