On Saturday, President Donald Trump signed a temporary extension of a subsidy program for small businesses hit by the coronavirus.

Legislation extends the June 30 deadline to apply for the program until August 8. Lawmakers created the program in March and have modified it twice since then, adding money once and more recently allowing more flexible use of funds despite some complaints among Republicans. conservatives
