Trump shares Fauci’s opinion on votes in person amid COVID-19

President Trump on Sunday shared the advice of Drs. Anthony Fauci to personally vote at least on the coronavirus pandemic – after the expert said there’s no reason ‘it can not be done.

“‘If done carefully, according to the guidelines, there’s no reason why you can not do it (vote at the polling station),’ ‘the president said. wrote on Twitter, award the offer to Fauci.

The top expert on infectious disease made the statement during a National Geographic event that aired Thursday.

Fauci, a member of the White House coronavirus task force, was asked by ABC News’ Deborah Roberts about concerns about the run-up to the election amid the viral outbreak.

“Can people safely go out and vote in person, seeing as there are so many concerns about voting this year?” Asked Roberts.

Fauci replied: “I think that if done carefully, according to the guidelines, there is no reason I can see why that is not the case.”

Fauci said, however, mitigation measures such as wearing a mask and keeping 6-feet apart should be observed, even at the ballot box.

‘If you wear a mask, if you observe the physical distance and do not have a full situation, then there is no reason why you can not [vote in person],” he said.

But, he warned: “if you are a person who is physically or otherwise compromised, you do not want to take the chance.”

And, those who are not interested in physically going to the polls on election day can use post-in-vote if available, Fauci said.

Otherwise, “there is no reason why we should not be able to vote in person,” he said.
