“I think it would be a good choice. Kamala Harris. A good choice,” Trump told reporters as he was leaving the White House to travel to Texas.

Biden said Tuesday that he would announce his choice for a running mate in the first week of August. He has had his lips tight on his selection, although he has promised to choose a woman.

Harris, who ran for president but retired before Iowa committees, has long been viewed as a top candidate for the vice presidential post, but speculation about the election has intensified in recent days.

Biden’s notes were captured by a photographer at a campaign event on Tuesday. The document included talking points about Harris in case he was asked about her, including “holding no grudges,” apparently in reference to a fierce confrontation between the two in a primary debate earlier this year.

His notes also mention that Harris “campaigned with me and Jill”, is “talented” and has been “a great help to [the] Bell.”

On Tuesday, Politico inadvertently published an article referring to Harris as Biden’s election for vice president, fueling discussion of the election. The media outlet issued an apology for “the error and any confusion it may have caused,” while the Biden campaign said the published report was not accurate.
