WAS SHINGTON (AP) – The latest in the presidential campaign (All time local):
8:50 p.m.
President Donald Trump said he believes his large rally crowd during the week of his campaign’s rapid progress is the “final vote” and translates into a lot of votes for his election.
Trump told Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday that he would use election day to make phone calls to his loyalists and visit his campaign headquarters in suburban Virginia to thank staff.
Trump said he would only declare himself the winner of the election when he wins. Concerns are being raised that Trump will declare victory as soon as possible before the vote count is fixed. But the Republican president told Fox there was no reason to “play games.” He says he thinks he has “a very good chance of winning.”
Trump also said he understands why businesses are flocking to their storefronts but thinks it’s too sad they felt the need to do so. He predicts that if there is violence and unrest it will be in democratically run cities like Chicago; New York; Portland, Reg Reagan; Auckland, California; And blames Baltimore and “weak leadership.”
