Trump rallies against ‘incompetent’ Portland mayor, says ‘unexpected’ involving ‘backlash’ supporters


President Trump blasted Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler on Sunday morning with a string of tweets and retweets about the ongoing protests and violence in the city.

After a clash between Black Lives Matter protesters and Trump supporters, in which one person was killed, Trump attacked Wheeler for refusing to help the National Guard.

Trump tweeted that Wheeler Sleepy is just as incompetent as Biden. “This is not the wish of our great country. They want safety and security, and they do not want to save our police!”

Minutes ago, the president tweeted that “the National Guard can solve these problems in less than 1 hour. Local officials must ask before it’s too late.”

Trump also retweeted a video where anyone speaking before the mob appeared to call the deceased a “Nazi” and appeared to support the killing.

“Our community organized itself and took out the garbage,” the man said, receiving enthusiasm in response.

No suspicious information will be released immediately on Saturday evening, police said.

The Associated Press freelance photographer heard three shots and then looked at police doctors working on the victim’s body, who appeared to be a white man. The freelancer said the man wore a hat called the Patriot Prayer, a right-wing group whose members have clashed with protesters in Portland in the past.

Trump also retweeted several posts referring to Wheeler’s open letter in which he denied the National Guard’s help in quelling the unrest.

Wheeler shared his open letter to Trump on Friday, as protests and violence in his city have been going on for 90 days already.

“On behalf of Portland City: No thanks,” Wheeler wrote in an open letter to Trump on Friday. “We don’t need your divisive and demagoguery politics.”

The letter continued: “Portlanders are up to you. In your hateful response to the Kovid epidemic we have seen your disregard for human life. And we know that you are your ticket to re-elect images of violence or vandalism.”

Protests in Portland at night have turned violent, resulting in injuries to protesters and law enforcement, property damage and dozens of criminal charges.

Trump tweeted Sunday morning that he was ready to help if the government asked Kate Brown.

On Friday evening, protesters marched inside the lobby of Wheeler’s condominium building, while others held a huge concert outside.

Protesters said they would not leave until Wheeler met with them to demand their resignation, cut the Portland Police Bureau’s budget and never vote to increase police spending.
