Trump promised ‘wild’ protests in Washington DC on January 6, claiming he lost what was ‘impossible’

President Trump promised a “wild” protest in Washington DC on Saturday, January 6, as he continued to deny losing the election.

He tweeted, “Statistically impossible to defeat the 2020 election.” “Big protest in DC on January 6th. Stay there, it will be wild!”

Trump, Targeting MCNLL and top Republicans, urge him to ‘get Tuger’ in the election fight.

January 6 is the day that Congress will meet to accept the results of the presidential election. President-elect Joe Biden won the election, and presidential-elect voters cast their ballots at the Electoral College last week.

But Trump and his campaign have disputed the results and launched numerous legal challenges, although almost all of them have failed. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court struck down a Texas lawsuit seeking to deny millions of votes in major swing states.

About four dozen lawsuits have been filed by the Trump campaign and allies have been expelled by state and federal judges over the past six weeks to advance election results.

Trump’s legal team has said it wants to continue pushing legal challenges, but experts say it is unlikely to succeed.

On Saturday, Trump linked to a report by Peter Navarro that claims without evidence that the amount of electoral fraud is enough to turn the election around.

Some of Trump’s fellow members plan to call for a debate in the House when the election results are out. However, the plans were thwarted when Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told his Republican allies in the Senate not to contest the election results on Jan. 6 when the joint session of Congress formally accepted the count.

McConnell’s move could effectively put an end to any last-minute hopes for the president. A majority of both chambers of Congress (including the Democratic-controlled House) will be needed to advance the election results.

Trump, meanwhile, is criticizing those in his party who have acknowledged Biden’s victory.

After McConnell recognized Biden as president-elect in a speech on the Senate floor Tuesday, Trump responded by calling on him and other Republicans to “be tougher.”

“. @ Senatemagelders and Republican senators have to be tougher, or you don’t have a Republican party. We won the presidential election a lot. Fight for it. Don’t let them take it!” Trump made the accusation on Twitter.

Trump, who lost by more than a million votes, has also targeted many other Republicans over his stance on the election – including Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Rep. Including Liz Cheney, R-Vio.
