Trump now claims he scored “extra points” on cognitive test

Amid renewed criticism of his COVID-19 response and fresh controversy over his decision to recruit federal forces in Democrat-led cities, President Trump resurrected his story on a 2018 cognitive test on Wednesday night that he insists in that he got a “perfect mark”, now claiming he also got “extra points” for a particularly impressive feat.

The feat? Repeat the words “person, woman, man, camera, TV” in the correct order.

In recent weeks, the president has repeatedly asked former vice president Joe Biden to take the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, while bragging that he has left doctors “very surprised” that he has scored perfectly on the test. Fox News presenter Chris Wallace, however, pointed out to Trump that the test isn’t really difficult, as it is meant to assess cognitive decline.

“They have a photo and it says ‘what’s that’ and it’s an elephant,” Wallace told Trump on Sunday. At the time, Trump insisted that other questions were much more difficult and Wallace “was unable to answer many of the questions” while claiming that he personally “answered all 35 questions correctly.”

During an interview Wednesday with Fox News medical collaborator Dr. Marc Siegel, Trump was once again obsessed with how well he did on the MoCA, a 30-point assessment that is administered over 10 minutes.

Saying that he took his cognitive test “probably a year or less ago than a year ago,” he went on to say that he asked former White House doctor Dr. Ronny Jackson if there was some sort of “acuity test” that could take, which happened in early 2018.

“He said it actually exists, and he named it, whatever it is,” Trump said. “And there were 30 or 35 questions: the first questions are very easy and the last ones are much more difficult. Like a memory question.
