A new national poll released on the eve of the two major conventions of political parties shows that Democratic challenger Joe Biden has a smaller lead over President Trump than most other polls on live phone operators.
WHAT THE LATEST FOX NEWS POLL SHOWS IN THE WHITE HOUSE RACE
The ticket of Biden and sen. California’s Kamala Harris – who named the former vice president and presumptive Democratic nominee last week as his running mate – tops Trump and Vice President Mike Pence’s ticket 50% -46% among registered voters in a CNN poll conducted 12 -15 August. The 4-point advantage for the Democratic ticket is right on the margin of error of the plus or minus 4 percentage point question.
Biden’s lead over the president in the CNN poll expands to 53% -46% among the nearly three-quarters of respondents who said they were also very or very enthusiastic about votes this fall. But the former vice president’s edge shrank to just 1 point – 49% -48% – among those living in 15 general election states.
