In a stunning tweet on Tuesday night, President Donald Trump called the 900 900 billion Covid Relief Bill passed by Congress “inappropriate” and called on legislators to make “many changes” to the measure, including large direct payments to individuals and families.

Trump also suggested that his administration could be the “next administration,” even if President-elect Joe Biden loses.

The president’s tweet included a video discussing what many of the bill’s errors are thought to be, less than 24 hours after the Senate passed the procedure.

Trump did not threaten a veto in the video, and with a ખર્ 1.4 trillion spending bill to keep the government open, he was expected to sign the law into law. The bill passed both houses of Congress with a veto-proof majority.

“I’m asking Congress to amend this bill and raise the ridiculously low $ 600 to $ 2,000, or માટે 4,000 for a couple,” Trump said in the video.

A spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The size of direct payments in the final bill was a key trend point, which came after months of failed negotiations and a misguided start, as the economy struggled to improve and hundreds of thousands of Americans died from the coronavirus.

G.O.P. Sen. Josh Haley Wali and Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, who urged Democrats, pushed for a check for 1, 200,200 for individuals, which matched what the government sent to people during the first phase of the epidemic in the spring.

Trump also said that if Congress does not deliver the relief package, it will be left to the next administration.

“And maybe that administration will be me, and we’ll get it done.”

Trump lost to Biden in the November election. Yet, the president falsely insisted that he actually won the election, and that he was the victim of widespread voter fraud. Attempts by Trump and his allies to overturn Biden’s victory have been rejected by many judges.
