Trump defends gathering at Bedminster Golf Club as ‘peaceful protest’

President Trump defended a rally of members of his Golf Club Bedminster, New Jersey, as a “peaceful protest” against the media.

“To me, they look like almost everyone, almost everyone wears masks,” said Trump, who said Friday night was not in conflict with Garden State’s social alienation scheme.

‘You know you have an exclusion in the law. It says peaceful protest as a political activity, right? he added.

“I call it peaceful protest because they heard you came up and they know the news is false, they know it better than anyone,” Trump continued.

The Trump scout was questioned after a reporter called the president for allegations that the COVID-19 pandemic had ‘disappeared’, even when 6,000 Americans died of the virus this week.

The question prompted a round of anger from the Trump-friendly public.

“If the press in this country were honest and not corrupt and false, our country would be so much ahead,” Trump said.

To date, the U.S. has reported more than 5 million cases of coronavirus, with more than 164,000 deaths.
