The national press secretary for the Trump 2020 campaign, Hogan Gidley, told “The Story” on Monday that the American way of life is at stake in the November presidential election.
“Make no mistake, speaking of Joe Biden, you don’t have to guess what his economy would be like,” Gidley told presenter Martha MacCallum. “You saw her for eight years [of the Obama administration]; depressed wages, jobs that leave our shores (three million go to China alone), he has no idea what culture is like.
“He’ll come out of his basement from time to time to say ‘Defund the police!'” Gidley predicted. “Our jobs are not safe, families are not safe, and our American way of life is not safe … Joe Biden is waging a war against all three.”
Gidley also denied suggestions that support for Trump is declining, telling MacCallum that the campaign’s online events have attracted 1.1 billion video views across all social media platforms.
The events, which take place seven days a week, are often hosted by the President’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump. A “Special Father’s Day” broadcast, in which President Trump was interviewed by his oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., garnered 5.2 million views, while the Black Voices for Trump organization has made nine broadcasts that have generated more than 18 million visits.
“When we see that the number of registered Republicans exceeds that of Democrats in key key states, we are doing something right,” Gidley told MacCallum. “Money [is being] raised at a rate that no one believed possible and that’s because we have a great candidate. “

MacCallum then pressured Gidley on whether plans to hold the Republican National Convention in Jacksonville, Florida, remain in place despite the increase in coronavirus cases across the state.
“We are looking to move forward in Jacksonville, the president is very excited, but he wants the American people to be safe,” said Gidley. “You care about the health and safety and safety of the people who come to the convention … We are working with people on the ground with the Governor [Ron] DeSantis and his office, the mayor as well, the RNC, all local officials and, quite frankly, the health experts because we want to make sure, if we go ahead, [of] what it looks like and the measures that need to be put in place to ensure that when this happens, it is safely activated. “
