The Facebook ad shows Trump smiling with the text overlay: “President Donald Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize,” and a question: “President Trump achieves PCAC in the Middle East!”
The 2021 nomination came earlier this week from a far-right Norwegian legislator who last month praised Trump’s role in promoting negotiations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
“All efforts to bring peace to the region should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and also to Donald J. Trump,” Christian Tibering-Gazette told Fox News.
Tibering-Gajade had earlier dropped Trump’s name in 2019 for his diplomatic efforts with North Korea.
To be sure, Trump has not achieved comprehensive peace in the region. The Trump administration’s tough plan to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was immediately rejected by Palestinian leaders earlier this year and US troops are still stationed in Iraq and Syria.
Any head of state or member of the national government can submit a candidate, and hundreds are put forward for prestigious praise each year. The BBC report said the rules could also apply to university professors and directors of foreign policy institutes.
Trump celebrated the recognition on Twitter on Wednesday morning by re-posting a slate of congratulatory messages from Rs.

The president has long wanted the prize and the selection committee has accused him of not honoring it already.
His election team quickly moved supporters to celebrate the nomination news by texts for ads, as well as campaign emails and donations.
Four U.S. presidents have won the Nobel Peace Prize, most notably former President Barack Obama in 2009, who was also criticized by Trump.
