The president, who changed his permanent residence from New York to Florida in the first term of his term, casts a vote to count August 18 in the state congress for primary elections.

A request from the first couple was posted online Wednesday by Palm Beach County election officials. A vote will be taken and delivered to the president’s residence in Florida from Mar-a-Lago before it will travel to Washington, DC, for its vote.

It will then be mailed to Florida officials ahead of the state’s primary election Tuesday.

White House officials did not immediately return a request for comment from The Hill.

Trump has often claimed that the practice of voting by mail will lead to voter fraud. However, there is little evidence to suggest that this is the case.

“With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT ELECTION in history,” he tweeted in late July.

“It will be a great embarrassment for the US. Explain the election until people can vote well, safely and securely ???” he added at the time.

Democrats have called for an expansion of mail-in-votes nationwide amid the COVID-19 pandemic, after most state and federal health guidelines warned against gathering in crowded, indoor spaces.

However, the president recently stated that he believes the Florida voting system is safe, and encouraged all voters in Florida who were eligible to request e-mail ballots.

“Whether you call it a Vote by Post or an Absentee Voting, in Florida the Electoral System is Safe and Secure, Probe and True. The Florida Voting System has been cleaned up (we defeated Democrats trying to change it), so in Florida I encourage everyone to ask for a vote and vote by mail! ”he tweeted in early August.
