Clemson’s Junior Quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Anderson’s female soccer player Marissa Mowry, his girlfriend, are engaged. Mowry took to Instagram on Friday night and posted six photos of Lawrence’s proposal, which took place at the Tigers’ Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina.
Mowry, who shared on Instagram on May 24 that the two were celebrating their fourth dating anniversary, posted a first photo showing Lawrence kneeling with a ring on his left hand while holding his left hand with his right hand. In a white dress, his right hand covers his face while Lawrence, in a navy suit, is on his right knee.
Lawrence and Mowry are both from Cartersville (Georgia) High. Each continued their academic careers in South Carolina, with Lawrence and Mowry attending universities in the northwestern area of the state.
In March, the couple created a COVID-19 relief fund. GoFundMe was initially closed due to NCAA compliance restrictions, but was later reinstated.
The “Trevor Lawrence and Marissa Mowry’s COVID-19 Relief Fund “aimed to raise money and provide assistance to local families in Georgia and South Carolina affected by the ongoing health crisis in the United States. The Cartersville-Bartow Community Foundation administered the fund.
“We believe that as Christians, it is our responsibility to love and serve those around us, especially through this pandemic.” Lawrence said. “We appreciate all of your efforts. Every dollar makes a difference.”
