His September 14 home run (and celebration) against Clayton Kershaw received a whistleblower response from the Dodgers bench. That moment will serve as an undercurrent for fireworks in Game 2 of the National League Division Series on Wednesday night.

Without sitting back and landing on the ground, Grisham is burning on it. He punctuates his home run to record his season total using American sign language. When the Dodgers dugout began to chime in on him in September, he responded by rushing to the home plate with both feet.

For instance, Grisham saw no problem with Manny Machado throwing his bat on Wednesday night. Or Brusder Greatroll throwing his hat. Or with Machado’s reaction to the celebration of Gradrol.

“Passion, intensity, I’m sure when kids watch it on TV, they love it,” Grisham said. “When I watch big league games on TV, I’d love to see stuff like that. It’s fun. It’s part of what makes you want to play big league baseball.”

Grisham’s place in the fast-growing competition for baseball seems secure. General manager A.J. Davis, who landed in Milwaukee in November, and right-handed Zach Davis. He will become the future Pedres Center fielder after Praler’s revolt.

In her Pedres debut season, Grisham scored .251 / .352 / .456 with 10 home runs. Perhaps most importantly, he established himself as an excellent defender in the midfield. It wasn’t always certainty.

When Pedres acquired Grisham from the Briars, he was getting away with a costly mistake as the right fielder in the 2019 NL Wild Card game. He made 14 starts in the middle. Yet Pedres planned to use it. They were confident there it would thrive, they traded in the Tampa Bay from the defensive Maze Margot on the eve of spring training.

“The way he moves forward, jumps into the ball, the pattern of all his movements, he’ll give you a very good indicator,” said Jesse Tingler, Pedres’ manager. “A week in spring training, watching him in sports, made you very confident that he was going to play well.”

Pedres played about as well as he could imagine. According to Statecast, Grisham’s average verage was worth the out-of-the-way average, with only Jackie Bradley Jr. and Lewis Robert, who each cost seven, the best outfielders. Dodgers star Cody Bellinger was no more than five OAs behind.

Bellinger, of course, stole Tetis by stealing it on Wednesday night. But Grisham has a game of play until that game. He was ged nd in right-center-field distance to take extra bases from Will Smith, keeping Pedres at strike distance.

Only 25% are likely to be caught in this play. Grisham needed to cover 103 feet in 5.4 seconds to track the ball, and he needed to do so with a right-center-field wall looming. It was an incredibly difficult game that Grisham made easy.

That’s how he usually does it. According to Statcast, Grisham’s jump – which covers the ground in the first three seconds while chasing a fly ball – is one of the best in baseball. Since the pitch was released, Grisham has moved an elite more than an average fielder 2.2 feet in the right direction. (Think about how many balls hit the top of the glove or miss an inch if you don’t make a noise like 2.5 feet.)

Break it down further, and within 1.5 seconds of the pitch being released, Grisham has averaged more ground than any qualifying outfielder in baseball.

When Grisham coraled Smith’s deep drive, he couldn’t resist shaking the pot a little more. After making the final match against the Dodgers’ bullpen, he turned the baseball into the bullpen with his finger, then turned again and pulled behind him.

The replay showed that the ball bounced back into the center field, possibly being pulled back into the field by the dodgers reliever. Controversial – The way Grisham prefers these games against LA

“It’s fun to play in a really competitive environment with a team that we’re trying to beat really badly,” Grisham said. “I’m sure there is, they want to beat us more than anything. It just makes it fun. We’re competitors, we just like to do that, and as I said, to do it on one of the biggest stages, it’s just to Makes it fun. “
