Tracking COVID-19 in Lancaster County


Link OL L Ne Na, Nab. (KOLN) -Mayor Learian Gallore Baird and Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department announced Sunday that 131 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Lancaster County, bringing the community to a total of 8,877. The death toll in the community has been 42.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, frequent shivering with cold, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. If you have symptoms, please test. The test is now open to all Lancaster County residents by appointment.

The testing process begins with a free online risk assessment at BryanHealth.com, CHIHealth.com or TestNebraska.com. Drive through test sites includes:

  • Brian Health: Former Graham Tire Store, 19th Northeast Corner and “O” Streets.
  • CHI Health St. Elizabeth and Trial Nebraska: Gateway Mall, 6100 “O” St., northwest corner of the mall. Test Nebraska hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 1 to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

The COVID-19 risk dial is on “Elevated Orange”, indicating a high risk of spreading the virus. Residents are advised to follow these recommendations to protect themselves and others:

  • Limit home activities other than work, school, medical care or food.
  • Work from home whenever possible.
  • Stay at least six feet away from anyone outside the house.
  • Face masks should be worn indoors and by people over the age of two when unable to make physical distance.
  • Avoid large gatherings.
  • Participate in small gatherings and events with only changes such as physical distance, facial masks, etc.
  • Follow the CDC Travel Guide available at CDC.gov.
