Tottenham Hotspur vs. Everton: game time, TV channels, how to watch

Well … that seemed more familiar to me. Tottenham Hotspur had a terrible performance against Sheffield United last Thursday, returning to tenth position in the table and adding another horrible result to a poor season. With just six games remaining, the Champions League is out of the question now, and even a place in the Europa League seems distant.

The Spurs have a chance to bounce back against Everton on Monday. Nor has it been a great season for the Toffees, although they have taken seven points from their three games since the restart. Only one point separates the two sides at the moment, and a loss for Tottenham would see the home side fall in the lower half of the table.

The staff’s decisions lately have been as frustrating as ever, but there may not be any relief soon. Jose Mourinho will argue that he hasn’t had the proper time to get his side fully established, but it’s hard to see how he will be more satisfied with a limited transfer budget and an atypical offseason ahead. If things are going to get better, he will have to work with the current team.

With six games remaining in a season of ups and downs, the goal should be to try and find some consistency and perhaps even positive momentum. There are unlikely to be any real prizes at the end of this season, so fans will be on the lookout for any hint of hope the past month has to offer. Three points against Everton would be a start, as any victory this year has turned into a pleasant surprise.

Match the thread rules

The rules of the match thread are the same as always. To any first-time visitor, welcome! We are glad you are here! Clean your feet, watch out for the gap and be sure to check out the other pages on this exceptional site. However, while you are here, we have some rules and regulations:

  • There are absolutely no links to illegal broadcasts. They are bad and they put us in trouble. Violators will be warned or banned.
  • We have rules against “unrelenting negativity”. No one likes a negative Nancy. Don’t get down on your knees and post outrageous or hurtful things just because you’re frustrated.
  • In this sense, direct abuse of players or match officials is also not allowed. It’s okay to say “wow, that was a really bad call”, but it is NOT okay to direct large amounts of abuse in the direction of that official for a call you didn’t like.
  • Treat other people in the party thread the way you would like someone else to treat your grandmother. Be good. This is a community of fans, not an unmoderated message board.
  • Finally, even though we don’t have a rule against profanity, try to control mischievous words. Additionally, language of a sexist, racist, or homophobic nature will be promptly removed and will be banned immediately. This is an open and supportive community.
