The second round of winners of the 47th. Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were unveiled on Sunday night as the ceremony presented trophies honoring children’s, lifestyle and animation programming. The ceremony also paid tribute to Regin Philbin, who passed away this weekend, by sharing her Lifetime Achievement Award acceptance speech she received at the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in 2008.
Hosted by Loni Love, the virtual ceremony follows last week’s event that honored the best digital dramas with Amazon. The Bay, After Forever and Studio City walking away like big winners. During the live broadcast, the winners accepted their Emmys from the comfort of their own homes, or wherever they are quarantined.

The presenters included Izabella Alvarez (Nickelodeon’s The noisy house and The big house), actress and social media star Tabitha Brown (Actress and Vegan Foodie), Josh Dela Cruz (Nickelodeon’s Blue slopes and you!), Quintessa Swindell (Netflix’s Trinkets) and Andrew Zimmern (Zimmern’s List)
When it came to networking, there was a triple tie between Amazon Prime Video, HBO, and Netflix for first place, as they each won six Daytime Emmys. The Mouse House did well: Disney Channel won five trophies and Disney Junior won four.
Big winners of the night included Elena of Avalor who won three Daytime Emmys with her special set of primetime for August 23. Rapunzel’s tangled adventure He also received three, while Sesame Street’s 50th anniversary celebration scored three, while the regular series also won a trio of Emmys.
Alan Menken became the 16th person in history to achieve EGOT status, joining an exclusive group of people who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. Menken won for Best Original Song along with Glenn Slater for the above mentioned Rapunzel’s tangled adventure. It should be noted that Menken received an honorary Primetime Emmy Award in 1990. This is his first competitive Emmy victory.
The 41st Sports Emmy Awards is scheduled for August 11 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, while the 41st Annual Emmy News and Documentary Awards is slated for the September 2020 Awards.
