Tony Finau falls to tie for second at Memorial after double bogey problem in last nine

After having at least a part of the lead in the first two rounds of the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio, Tony Finau of Utah finds himself in a tie for second place in the final round on Sunday after struggling on Saturday the ninth in Muirfield. Village GC.

Finau was surpassed by the Spanish Jon Rahm, who shot a 4-under-68, the best score of the day, to jump ahead in 12-under-par 204.

A Salt Lake City native living in Lehi, Finau started off well with a little bird at n. ° 4, followed by little birds at 10 and 11 to reach 12 under the day. However, he doubled bogey at No. 12 when he lost the green at par 3 and then made three putts. Added a ghost at n. 14th when he fell into the water.

He bounced back with a birdie at No. 15, but made his second double bogey of the day at No. 17 when he hit his drive on a hard drive and hardly advanced his second shot. Then he hit in a rear bunker and took three more to go down.

Finau is tied with Ryan Palmer, with whom he shared the lead after 36 holes. They are two shots ahead of former Masters champion Danny Willett and three ahead of Henrik Norlander and Jason Day.
