Tom Brady learned Bucs playbook ‘no beat’

Tom Brady does not look like a man learning a new playbook with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to teammate Ronald Jones.

Brady is preparing for his first NFL season since the end of his glittering career with the New England Patriots.

The 43-year-old quarterback won six Super Bowl rings at Foxborough, but is now settling into life as a Bucs star.

The adjustment period is also going well, Jones says, running back, with Brady mixing up in practice so far.

“In terms of Tom, I would not even know it [he was new], “Jones told reporters.

“Not one of the boys would know he had to learn it because he did not miss a beat. He did not have anyone on a play or [anything] like that, you wouldn ‘t even know that.

“Of course, you know his resume, so it’s good to be there with a man like you, a real field general.”

Jones, who had 31 receptions last year for 309 yards, along with his 172 runs for 724 yards and six rushing touchdowns, has teamed up with Brady this offseason and the former USC star is hoping there will be chemistry on the field from week 1.

“Working with Tom was great, he could get some chemistry so he could see my pace, my speed, my routes and things like that,” Jones said.

“So, hit the field Week 1, we’ll be ready and he’s going to know how I’m getting off.

“I say for now [the most important thing is] just to get that chemistry with the [offensive] line and with Tom Brady as quarterback.

“Because we will not have the preseason, this first propulsion will fly bullets. Week 1. I’m excited, we’m excited.

“But I think [it is important] just the timing and things come down – things like that – so when we go out, things just flow. “
