Tom Bergeron does not return as presenter of ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Lifetime host Tom Bergeron released the news on Monday that he will not be returning to the dance competition show after 15 years in his role.

Co-host Erin Andrews will also not be returning.

The decision comes when ABC and BBC Productions, which produce the series, say they are headed in “a new creative direction.”

“Tom Bergeron will always be a part of the Dancing with the Stars family. As we embark on a new creative direction, he leaves the show with our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for his signature wit and charm that helped make this show a success”. companies said in a joint statement.

Regarding Andrews, the statement said, “We appreciate everything he brought to the ballroom.”

“Fans have supported her since she originally competed as a contestant in 2010, and her sense of humor has become a hallmark of the show,” the statement added.

In a tweet, Bergeron called his term “the most unexpected gift of my career.”

“I am grateful for that and my lifelong friendships. With that said, what am I supposed to do with all these glitter masks?” he wrote.

Bergeron has been a presenter on “Dancing with the Stars” since the show started in 2005 and won an Emmy for his work.

Andrews has been a host since 2014.
