Desolation update is channeling a bit of Dead Space
It won’t make your skin crawl like Event horizon or Dead space, but No Man’s Sky it’s leaning toward sci-fi horror with its update on Desolation, and there’s a lot of potential to fear in this open universe.
This update, the latest in a series of seemingly endless updates, invites you to spend the night in abandoned capital ships scattered among the stars. Frigates are “rich in salvage” and perhaps not as empty as they look on the outside. Some have been overrun by creepy crawlers. “The only trace of the crew is in the records they have left behind, a mix of handwritten and procedurally generated text that means each ship has its own unique story for you to rebuild.”
I hope No Man’s Sky continue to diversify with these more experimental (but still fully branded) diversions. The universe feels so much more alive when you can stumble upon unique and cool excursions. There are “several more significant [content] Launches “online for 2020, and the future remains bright.
How brilliant I will let this fact speak: “It was also a real surprise to see No Man’s Sky sitting above the likes of Dead red like the most played game on GamePass. “People are captivated.
