A gunman opened fire inside Bunling Gley in Illinois, killing three people and injuring three others, officials believe it was a random attack.

A 37-year-old man was taken into custody after a shooting Saturday night at Don Carter Lens in Rford Ford, about miles0 miles (128 kilometers) northwest of Chicago, police said in a social media post.

“Two of the people who were shot were teenagers,” Rockford Police Chief Dan O’Shea told a news conference.

The OCIA did not immediately release additional information about the victim or the person taken into custody. He described the scene as “inclusive” and said he did not think any officers would drop their weapons if they caught anyone interested.

Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara said in a statement that he was “angry and saddened” by the shooting.

“My thoughts are with the families of those who have lost loved ones,” McMamara said. “I am also thinking about the injured and my hopes for a speedy and complete recovery are with them.”

The Fordford Register Star reports that the year 2020 has been the worst year for the city’s extremism, with a record 1965. In 1996, 35 people were killed in the city, breaking a previous record of 31 years.
