Toronto police say they have identified “numerous” people involved in the murder of the Canadian drug company billionaire and his wife about three years ago.
Dit. SGT Brandon Price released a brief statement to reporters on Friday after reports that police had found an interesting person in the case of Apotex founder Barry Sherman and his wife Honey. The elderly couple was found dead in their Toronto mansion, which was hung with a belt from the railing around their indoor pool on December 15, 2017.
During the three-year investigation, a number of “interested people” have been investigated and are being investigated, Price said. “The goal of any investigation is to identify people who may be involved in a crime or exclude them as suspects.” He did not identify anyone in the statement, according to the Toronto Star.
Shortly after their bodies were found, some police officers described the death as a homicide. But Shermans’ children believe they have been murdered and a team of investigators has been taken, who conducted another autopsy. Police later said they suspected murder.
