A website that creates a fake lineup of ’90s festivals and links to archive live performance images seeks to take hours of time away from nostalgic music fans.
He was highlighted by Suede bassist Mat Osman earlier today (July 13), who joked that he will not accept the self-generated formation until his band is taller than Midnight Oil.

The 90s festival builder was created by Twitter user ‘rich monkeon’, who wrote on launch that it features “shaky VHS images of all your independent favorites.”
A random lineup places REM as headliner on the Reef Alcopop Stage, while Beastie Boys heads the Raw Magazine Britpop Stage. Other acts included further down the list are Neil Young, Lenny Kravitz, The Verve, Massive Attack, Lou Reed, The Chemical Brothers, Wilco, and Sinead O’Connor.
Clicking on it, the banner with the name Neil Young, for example, leads users to Young’s presentation of ‘Cinnamon Girl’ at the Phoenix Festival in 1997.
Also featured on the monkeon.co.uk website where the festival lineup can be found is a ‘Guess My IMDB Rating’, which challenges users to guess the manufacturer’s rating of the website by typing in random movie titles.
‘Stupid Jukebox’, meanwhile, allows visitors to “discover some fun / weird / hilarious songs,” Monkeon wrote. “I created a series of each 7 ″ single that Discogs has listed as comedy, novelty, or parody, gave it a random order, and linked it to a YouTube search.”
Meanwhile, open-air concerts and artistic performances could resume as of Saturday (July 11), provided they had a “limited and socially distant audience.”
In addition, a series of small indoor “test events” will also be held to help plan for the future reopening of the venues. They include a performance by the London Symphony Orchestra at St Luke’s Church, performances at the London Palladium and at Butlin’s Holiday Parks.
