Critical lawmakers were quick to point out that such protections for pre-existing circumstances were already being implemented under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the signature of the Obama administration’s health care law that Trump and Republicans are currently seeking to repeat.

The rebels followed up on a press conference in New Jersey in which Trump said the relocation mandate insurers treat all pre-existing circumstances “has never been done before.”
The administration is currently supporting a lawsuit led by conservative states to overturn the ACA, often known as ObamaCare, which would remove health insurance coverage for some 20 million people.
The backlog following Trump’s announcement underscores the important role that health care is expected to play in the 2020 election cycle.
Democrats are confident they can play offensive on the issue, with lawmakers constantly noting that Republicans are trying to repeat the ACA in the midst of a pandemic that has already killed more than 161,000 people in America.
Republicans have hinted at their promise to replace ObamaCare, but they were unable to agree on an alternative during Trump’s first term in office.
