With the release of Ghost of Tsushima, Sony has practically limited an outstanding generation of support for PlayStation 4. But which titles have accumulated the most cash in the United States so far? NPD analyst Mat Piscatella revealed the ranking of the five best exclusive games based on dollar sales to date, and shows what successful generation the Japanese giant has had:
- Marvel’s Spider-Man
- God of War
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- The last of us: part II
- Final Fantasy VII Remake
Here are a few things worth noting: The success of Marvel’s Spider-Man bodes well for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which is set to be a gigantic hit for PlayStation 5 at launch later this year. Guerrilla Games must also be absolutely thrilled with the success of Horizon Zero Dawn, given that it was an unproven property when it launched in 2017.
But look at The Last of Us: Part II go: it’s only been out for a month or so and it’s already the fourth best-selling PS4 exclusive of the generation. It would be interesting to see a full top ten as we’d love to know where Bloodborne and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End fit. What an impressive generation it has been for the PS4!
