‘These are the darkest days of my family’s life’

Priscilla Presley spoke about her grief over the suicide of her grandson Benjamin Keough, saying “these are some of the darkest days in my family’s life.”

Presley, Lisa Marie Presley’s heartbroken mother, broke her silence by writing on Facebook: “These are some of the darkest days of my family’s life. The impact of losing Ben has been devastating.

“Trying to put together all the pieces of all the possible reasons why has penetrated my soul. Every day I wake up I pray that it gets better. So I think about my daughter and the pain she is going through when she was a loving mother.

“Ben’s father, Danny, who is completely lost, since Ben was his only son. Riley, so loving and so close to him; Harper and Finley, who absolutely adored Ben. Navarone [Lisa Marie’s brother], who struggles deeply with loss and death. “

Presley, 75, added: “Rest in peace Ben, you were loved.”

Benjamin Keough’s death was officially declared a suicide, and Lisa Marie Presley’s 27-year-old son died of an “intraoral shotgun wound,” the Los Angeles County coroner confirmed to Page Six on Tuesday.

Keough reportedly died Sunday at a family party at Lisa Marie’s home in Calabasas, California, to celebrate the birthdays of his girlfriend Diana Pinto and Ben Smith-Peterson, the husband of Keough’s sister Riley.

Police reportedly arrived at 6am on July 12 and found that Keough had locked himself in the bathroom and shot himself in the head.

Pinto also posted a broken-hearted love tribute to her late boyfriend of more than four years, on Instagram on Sunday.

She wrote “I don’t know how I’m supposed to do this life without you” and that now she knows “the true meaning of grief”.
