The 16+ cases of the Cardinals of COVID-19 spread over a week remain devastated on the schedule.
Realistically, I do not know what the hope was that the Cardinals and Pirates could play this week, given that the games will take place within the one-week exhibition space for those new positive tests. I assume the hope was that they could get extra values from a few days, and feel good enough about the contact trace? I do not know. Never felt like more than a dream.
So:
The whole series between the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates have been suspended this week, sources told ESPN.

Remember the continuous use of the word “postponed.” The Cardinals now have 55 games left to play … and just 46 days to play them. Without an extension of the season, I do not think this is possible. My opinion is that the Cubs series and / or the Pirates series will eventually just be canceled, and the standings will be determined by the winning percentage among the teams that get in at least 50 games (or something like that – I’m legit too advice).
No word of extra positive (yet) this weekend, so that’s at least good news. The Cardinals are next scheduled to play a double header in Detroit against the Tigers on Thursday, August 13, before a weekend in Chicago against the White Sox. Then they come to Wrigley Field for three (August 17-19), which throws up maybe four + games, depending on how this all shakes up.
UPDATE: MLB better hope this positive was someone who was in direct contact with the SOURCE of the new positive from Friday, otherwise this is a disaster:

UPDATE 2: Here is the positive test:
