There are 3,197 more COVID-19 cases, with 6 deaths reported Sunday in Utah


SALT LAKE CITY – In a daily release of new coronavirus statistics, the Utah Department of Health on Sunday reported 3,197 more test-confirmed cases and six deaths in the state.

He says a further 13,641 people were tested for the virus on Saturday, and 556 Utahns are currently hospitalized due to Covid-19. About 200 of them, 197, are in intensive care. The state’s ICU beds are more than 91% full.

Overall, it brings to Utah 177,176 confirmed cases, 793 deaths, 7,532 hospitalizations and 1,906,908 tests on different people since the epidemic began.

In an email, the health department said there were six deaths in Utah:

Method:

Test results now include data from PCR tests and antigen tests. Positive COVID-19 test results are reported to the health department immediately after confirmation, but negative test results cannot be reported for 24 to 72 hours.

The number of cases reported daily by the Utah Health Department includes all cases of Covid-19 because of the outbreak in Utah, currently those who are infected, those who have recovered from the disease and those who have died.

Definition of a retrieved case Anyone who was diagnosed with Covid-19 three or more weeks ago did not die.

Deaths reported by the state usually occur two to seven days before their report, according to the health department. Some deaths may be later, especially if the person is from Utah but has died in another state.

The Department of Health reports both confirmed and probable COVID-19 case deaths as defined by the Council State and Territorial Epidemiologist. Death counts may change once case investigation is completed.

For a person who dies like a covid-19, according to the health department, if the person did not have a covid-19, the person would not have died.
