The Yankees live up to the bullpen billing when it’s so important

At this point, there were no fireworks.

Old Roldis Chapman first faced Renault, then his 101-mile fastball on September 1. On the 1st Mike traveled to Brosno’s head and almost led to a bench-clearing brawl, but the Yankees had no issues in the 5-1 Game 4 win, with Chapman swinging Bruce to end the game.

He closed out a game that featured the best of the Yankees’ high-powered relief corps, as Chapman, Zack Britain and Chad Green combined to throw five no-hit innings, and they could all be ready for Friday’s Game 5.

“We count our bullpen all year round, and tonight they were great.” Said Glaber Torres.

Chapman went out with two in the eighth while Britton retired straight in the fifth to close the reins, then he entered to start the seventh. Chapman whipped Randy Arozerena with a 101-mile fastball ball to finish eighth.

Before the series, both teams said last month’s event was a thing of the past, and at least for now, it looks like it is.

There is a high stakes at this point.

On Thursday, Aaron Boone said he would become “aggressive” with the use of his high-gain bullpen weapons and that was it.

He knocked Jordan Montgomery out of the game after four innings and went straight to Chad Green, whose Yankees were as important an outing as any of the bullpen.

After another brilliant regular season, when he finished with a WHIP of 0.818, broke again in the lowest, green postseason on staff.

He will have to struggle in the wild-card series and in ALDS game 2.

Three times in the green bullpen before finally entering the game to start at five.

He retired all six batters he faced, flew to Mike Zunino and struck out Yandi Diaz and Brandon Lowe in fifth.

After a 13-pitch inning, Green came back from sixth and fielded Arozrena and Man-Margot Yankees drilled a ball into the center of the ball to find Aaron Hicks before G-Man Choi flew to the center.

Green’s appearance didn’t help the Yankees survive at least another day, after the postseason’s ugly start he probably got back on track in the playoffs.

It started in Game 2 of the wild-card series, when Green Masahiro came to Tanaka’s relief and he left Jose Ramirez with a two-run double, allowing both runners to score quickly.

Leela recovered to throw a key scoreless seventh inning in ALDS Game 1 against the Rays to maintain a one-run lead.

But after losing to Tampa Bay in Wednesday’s Game 3, Green entered after a second subpar outing by Tanaka and worsened the situation, this time allowing a double leadoff to Kevin Kiermeyer in the sixth and then Perez with a two-run homer from the field against Michael.

Overall, Green gave up six hits in just 3 ¹ / ₃ postseason innings before Thursday. But in Game 4, he, Britain and Chapman showed how dangerous they can be.
