The woman may have died 12 years ago before the body was found in the house

An elderly Scottish woman was found dead at her home after failing to show up for her COVID-19 vaccine appointment – and now officials believe her body may have been there for 12 years, reports said.

The Daily Record states that Christina Mula, now in her 80s, was found last month at her cover home, where she lived with her husband, Daniel.

The outlet said nurses did not show Mal Lane for her vaccine appointment then went home to find her.

When authorities came knocking on the door, her husband said she had gone abroad, the outlet said.

But his body was later found inside the house, prompting a police investigation.

Police are still working to determine how she died, but said it is possible she may have been dead for 12 years, the outlet said.

A police spokesman confirmed the woman’s body was found in the home.

A spokesman told the outlet that the death was considered unclear and an inquiry was ongoing.

Neighbors were stunned to learn that Daniel was married.

One resident told Surya, “I have never seen him with my wife while I was here.”

“It makes me shiver when I think she’s been home all the time. Why was there no smell, or fly? It’s just so weird. “
