Update: Walmart’s PS5 stock is now completely depleted after the retailer offered four different stocks on November 12, the day of the console’s release. While most stores were reopening at midnight ET on the day of the launch, Walmart is offering four different time slots during the day on Thursdays: 12 noon, 3 p.m., 6 p.m., and 9 p.m. Sold within a minute each. The site crashed despite being on the page and refreshing correctly at stock time, slow loading and the inability to actually add a console to your cart when the button appears. If you’ve managed to secure the PS4 during any of these four, congratulations! If you haven’t, you’re not alone, and we feel your pain.
If you still want to buy the PS5, your next best chance will be during Black Friday 2020. Walmart then plans to re-lock the console restline, and gamestop stores will have at least two PS5 units per location. We expect other stores to close the PS5 again during Black Friday. In the two months since the PS5 first went for pre-order, it has been impossible to find a console in stock, but if you want to buy the PS5 on launch day, there’s also a chance you can do so on Walmart. The retailer shared concrete details on when the PS5 will be available on Walmart.com today, although according to this issue of the day, there is only one more PS5 restoration time left.
The PS5 and PS5 digital editions will be available for purchase today on Walmart.com 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET, So set your alarm now. Unfortunately, the PS3 sold out in 5 minutes, the first three stocks came back today and they went with the show. It doesn’t bode well for a 9 a.m. ET restock, but it’s perfect for shots if you haven’t been able to secure the console yet. We want to ensure that your Walmart account and payment information is up-to-date in advance to facilitate checkout, but good luck as well.
Walmart also had the Xbox Series X / S available for purchase online on Tuesday, but only one time slot was available, and (surprisingly) the stock sold out quickly.
If you don’t miss the launch day restore for either console, the PS5 and Xbox Series will be available for purchase at X / S gamestop stores during Black Friday, although stock will be extremely limited.
