The trailer for Comey and Trump’s miny is surreal

In 2018, the book by James Comey appeared A higher marriage was published. The account, which Comey began writing after he was fired from his position as director of the FBI, was an autobiography, discussing his career as well as his relationship with President Donald Trump, the man responsible for his fire.

Now, Showtime is adapting the book for the small screen. The Comey Rule stars Jeff Daniels as Comey, and goes through the days leading up to the 2016 presidential election and the first several months of Trump in office. The rest of the cast includes Brendan Gleeson as Trump, Card house‘Michael Kelly as Andrew McCade, Holly Hunter as Sally Yates, Peter Coyote as Robert Mueller, Kinglsey Ben-Adir as Barack Obama, and Joe Lo Truglio as Jeff Sessions.

The show, instead of focusing solely on Comey, is described as “the story of two powerful figures, Comey and Trump, whose strikingly different personalities, ethics and loyalties put themselves on a collision course.”

The trailer is surreal to watch, as many celebrity faces recreate the events of the most recent election in recent memory, just before the 2020 presidential election begins.

The series will premiere over two nights on Showtime, beginning September 27th.
