The Times Up, an organization founded to fight sexual harassment in the workplace in the wake of the #MeToo movement, spent a large portion of its donations on legal aid to help victims in its first year, records show.
Tax filings show that the organization, founded by Hollywood celebrities and made up of the then Up Foundation and Up Now Inc., raised 6,670,219 in 2018 in the first year of its operation.
However, less than 10% has been spent to help women who have experienced sexual harassment.
The filings show that 2,312,001 were spent on legal defense funds, while 40,407,032 were spent on salaries.
And more than 7,157,000 were spent on the conference of luxury resorts, and a further 58,395 d95 were spent on travel.
The organization held positions on its board with Reese Witherspoon, Amy Schumer and Brie Larson in the early days of its operation.

The tax filings detail how ‘3,000 individuals’ were assisted by the Time Up Legal Defense Fund between January and June 2018 at a cost of $ 1,747,635.
But most of the money from the defense fund came from a grant to the Women’s Law Center, according to the New York Post.
Only a small portion came from the Time Up Foundation, along with the Times Up Foundation, which donated 2 132,575 to the fund and Times Up Now, the charity’s lobbying end, donated 17 179,426.
Aside from executive compensation, tax filings show that Times Up Now, which is the organization’s lobbying arm, spent $ 157,155 on conferences designed to build communities and initiate critical conversations about gender equity.

Despite being in existence for six months, participants in the conflict struggled to decide what the organization’s mission statement should be, according to an attendee speaking to the New York Post at the convention.
It later changed from ‘Let’s clean up Hollywood’ to ‘We’ll help all the workers.’
In addition to the country’s valuable conferences, the organization retracted details of its tax filings on how it spent 28 8,288,007 on advertising and 9 40,940,328 on legal expenses.
A large portion of it – 19,719,522 – went to Arnold and Porter Kaye Schuler, frequently lobbying for a law firm or Capitol Hill.
A total of 2,112,435 were awarded to public relations company Rally, according to the tax filing.
An email seeking comment on the Times Up has not yet been returned.
